GERMAN NATIONAL FLAG

A lot has been said about the History of various German Flags and its purpose during peace times and even more at times of war.

The tricolored flag dating back to the 1848 revolution, proposed by the Frankfurt Parliament for a united and democratic German state was later adopted as the National Flag of Germany.

After the Second World War, the flag was used for both sides of Germany. East and West until 1949. German National Day 3rd October.

The Bear on the Berlin Flag dates from 1338 and the colours from 1861.
