In 1889 Tokelau became a British protectorate. Tokelau is governed by New Zealand since 1925.
Tokelau is located in the Southern Pacific Ocean. There are only about 250 people living in Atafu. You can walk around the islet in five minutes. The three atolls have their own solar plant. People get around in electric golf buggies.
3rd September is a national holiday called TOKEHAGA DAY.
