The five white stars represent the five main Island group. Blue for the surrounding Ocean. Green for the land. The yellow stripe symbolizes the Sun.

Why Solomon Islands. Spanish explorer Alvaro de Mendana de Neira sighted the Islands in 1568 and named The Islands of Solomon, hoping the mineral reaches of the Island would match those of the biblical King. Philip Carteret an English explorer "rediscovered the Solomon Islands in 1767.
