BRAZIL NATIONAL FLAG

Brazil's national flag with its current design was adopted in 1992. It displays 27 stars on a blue disc representing constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.

The largest and the only Portuguese speaking country in South America, the Federative Republic of Brazil was a colony of Portugal before its transition to the Brazil Empire in 1822. Brazil ended its Empire era in 1889 and moved on to become the Republic Velha also called The Old Republic.
