Czech Republic National Flag

 The Czech Republic’s flag is composed of three colours, each with its own historic and symbolic meaning. The blue triangle represents impartiality and sovereignty and previously was included to represent Slovakia. However, when Slovakia broke away to form its own country in 1993, it was concluded that the blue triangle should only represent impartiality and sovereignty. The upper white stripe of the national flag symbolises the sky and is the traditional colour of Bohemia. The red represents both Moravia and the blood shed for the freedom of the country. The flag has been in use since the 1920’s but became the national flag of the Czech Republic in 1993 after Czechoslovakia split.

The Czech Republic is a landlocked country located in Central Europe, around 78,871km² in size. The population of the country is approximately 10,827,529, with the majority speaking Czech which is the official language of the Czech Republic. The capital city of the Czech Republic is Prague.

Within the country are over 2,000 castles, making it the most castle-dense country in the world. The largest of these castles is the Prague Castle, which is the largest castle in the world. The Prague Castle is around 570 meters long and 128 meters wide. Within the castle resides the President of the Czech Republic. Additionally, Czechia has the world’s deepest underwater cave at 473 meters deep. However, cave divers claim it is much deeper. The Czech language contains over 250,000 words which is one of the largest numbers out of all languages.
