HAITI NATIONAL FLAG

Haiti’s national flag has two horizontal halves, with the top half being blue and the bottom half red. The blue represents Haiti’s African residents, and the red represents those of mixed descent. The flag also features a coat of arms in the centre, which is contained within a white square. The coat of arms includes the motto “L’Union fait la force” which means “Union makes strength”. Also included in the coat of arms is a royal palm and weapons. The royal palm symbolises independence and the weapons, the nation's strong belief to defend its nation. This flag was adopted as the national flag on the 26th of February 1986.
